• All entries must be original work, either hand drawn or computer generated. Hard copy entry required, electronic files will not be accepted.
  • No syndicated, copyrighted or clip art images can be used.
  • Maximum poster size 11” x 17”, minimum size
    8 1/2” x 11”.
  • All entries must be postmarked on or before February 15, 2008.
  • Energy by Design is open to all students that attend school within the Nicor service territory.
  • Entries must be submitted by an individual, not a group or team.
  • Entries must be accompanied by the fully completed official entry form.
  • The first and last name of student must be on the back of the poster.
  • Employees of Nicor and all of its subsidiaries, including Nicor Services, Dykstra, Hawthorn, Trade Winds, Carrier and their immediate families, household members and dependents are not eligible to win prizes.
  • All rules and requirements must be followed or automatic disqualification will result.

Additional Information:

  • Because the contest is designed to encourage total class participation, the teacher must submit all of the entries together.
  • All entries and all rights thereto become the property of the National Energy Foundation and Nicor (the Sponsors) and will not be returned. The Sponsors expressly acquire and claim the original rights to reproduce and publish entries as selected by the judges, in ways they deem appropriate (i.e., recognition, publications, promotions and Web sites), the consideration for which will be the publicity provided to the entrant through same.
  • Entry constitutes acceptance of all rules and requirements, and consent to the use of winner’s name, biographical data and likeness for advertising, promotion or marketing purposes, as permitted by law, without additional compensation.
  • Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received.
  • The Sponsors are not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, incomplete or illegible entries or notifications.
  • The Sponsors shall not be liable for any injury, loss, damage, costs, or expense arising directly or indirectly in connection with this contest or prize. Except as noted, all expenses associated with the prize, including taxes, fees, license, title costs, registrations and insurance, are the sole responsibility of the prize recipients and their parents or legal guardians.
  • The Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to cancel, suspend or modify this competition should causes beyond its control prevent the successful administration, winner selection or prize award.
