• All entries must be original work, either hand drawn or computer generated. Hard copy entry required, electronic files will not be accepted.
  • No syndicated, copyrighted or clip art images can be used.
  • Maximum poster size 11” x 17”, minimum size
    8 1/2” x 11”.
  • All entries must be postmarked on or before February 4, 2011.
  • Energy by Design is open to all K-8 students that attend school within the Nicor service territory.
  • Entries must be the work of an individual, not a group or team.
  • Entries must be accompanied by the fully completed and signed official entry form.
  • The first and last name of student must be on the back of the poster.
  • Employees of Nicor and their subsidiaries, including Nicor Services, Dykstra, Hawthorn, Trade Winds, Carrier and their immediate families, household members and dependents are not eligible to win prizes.
  • All rules and requirements must be followed or automatic disqualification will result.
  • Past prize winners are not eligible to win.

Additional Information:

  • Because the contest is designed to encourage total class participation, the teacher must submit all entries together.
  • All entries and all rights thereto become the property of the NEF and Nicor (The Sponsors) and will not be returned.
  • By entering this contest, entrants grant Sponsors and their designees the right, unless prohibited by law, to reproduce and publish entries in any way and format in all forms of media (publications, Web sites), to use their names, cities and states of residence, pictures, biographical information and likenesses, without compensation, notification or permission, for the purpose of advertising and publicity in any and all manner or media, now or hereafter know, throughout the world in perpetuity.
  • Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received.
  • No purchase necessary to enter, purchase does not increase chance of winning.
  • The Sponsors are not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, incomplete or illegible entries or notifications.
  • The Sponsors shall not be liable for, and participants and their parent/guardian agree to hold Sponsors harmless from, any injury, loss, damage, costs, or expense arising directly or indirectly in connection with this contest or prize. Except as noted, all expenses associated with the prize, including taxes, fees, license, title costs, registrations and insurance, are the sole responsibility of the parents or legal guardians of the prize recipient.
  • The Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to cancel, suspend or modify this competition, should causes beyond its control prevent the successful administration, winner selection or prize award.
  • Contest is subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations, is void where prohibited by law and shall be governed by Illinois law. By entering, participants agree to the Official Rules.
