Put your students’ creativity and energy to good use!

Energy by Design is a poster contest developed by Nicor and the National Energy Foundation for children grades K-8 designed to combine a student’s artistic talent with the ability to portray how to use energy efficiently.

Nicor will provide the materials, the teacher’s job is to direct and motivate the students, and the child’s job is to produce a beautiful, unique interpretation of what energy efficiency means to them. If you're a student and would like to participate, talk to your teacher and encourage your class to participate (see eligibility requirements).

Student winners will get a $1,000 savings bond, a pizza party for their class, and a prize pack filled with fun, age-appropriate prizes. Teachers of the grand prize winners will receive a classroom grant of $1,000.
